( Character's Name ) : Link ( Character's Age ) : 17-18 ( Series ) :Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword ( Canon Point ) :Just after Zelda freezes herself away in stone to protect the seal encasing Demise. ( Playability ) : n/a
( Personality ) : In the beginning of the game, Link appears to be rather sleepy and laid-back, yet far from lazy as his helping around town suggests. Though he doesn't have dialogue in-game, character reactions to him suggest that he is very kind and understanding. His motivation, however, is kind of lacking as far as his beginning appearance goes. Zelda, Link's childhood friend in Skyloft, usually has to go about waking him up when he sleeps in before school. In this case, he nearly sleeps in through the very important Wing Ceremony.
The game starts in the quiet town of Skyloft, a chunk of land that was thrust from the Surface below into the skies by the goddess Hylia. Link was raised and educated in the Knight Academy, where he was trained to fight and fly aboard his loftwing companion. Though Link's motivation was just as high as his head was in the clouds, he always set others before himself, and continues to do so throughout his adventures. He's known by his fellow townspeople and classmates as the dopey, quiet and sleepy boy with the special, red-feathered loftwing. Not only that, but he is also known as the kind and talented climber! Link holds a softness that goes alongside his quiet nature, which is why Groose and his gang gets away with bullying him. It's a good thing his best friend Zelda watches over him so carefully, because he wouldn't really get anywhere without her coming to his defense.
Though Link is at the butt of everyone's jokes, he takes them all by surprise when he wins the race in the Wing Ceremony and shares a special moment with Zelda, who takes on the role of the goddess and rewards Link with a sail and a blessing. A rather tender moment is shared, but becomes bittersweet when Zelda is knocked off of her loftwing at the end of the ritual and thrown far away by a dark twister. The wind takes Zelda away, and it is later discovered that the evil Ghirahim is the cause, working to kidnap Zelda and sacrifice her in order to bring back the evil that is Demise. Though this is all lost to Link at first, it doesn't matter. The previous night led him to Fi, who provided the sword which would be the key of his journey. He dons his green tunic, shield and sword, leaving words of explanation to Zelda's father before willingly jumping through the clouds to the surface that he assumed Zelda would preside.
Link's laziness disappears for the time being, Zelda's motivation still being strong as he hopes to find her safe. Without the bat of an eye, he goes through dangerous forests and fights against strong monsters in order to just get a hint as to where she is. His patience is astounding when he comes across difficult puzzles in large temples, going through great lengths when he gets clues to Zelda's location. His journey takes him to Eldin, a fiery volcanic slab of land with a dangerously hot temple. Link dances with flames and rolls over lava to find her, only to catch up with the mysterious Impa. Unknown to Link until then, Zelda is apparently a part of this journey, having to go from temple to temple for cleansing for reasons that are not clear to him. Still, Impa scolds Link, telling him he has no right to be near Zelda and is not good enough to defend her. Link's soft nature slowed him down, apparently holding back the speed he should have accomplished to find his friend and take her home. Her words burn Link, and his determination's flame hikes up higher by not just her insults alone, but the fact that he had to watch Zelda frown and leave him behind. With a heavy heart filled with disappointment, Link moves on. This is where I will be taking him from, giving Link a greater sense of determination and worry for his childhood friend.
Regardless of being the chosen hero, Link's determination when it comes to helping people has always been very strong. He finds enjoyment in being thanked and the feeling that comes with helping others, and this only transcends when it comes to Zelda. His close friends hold a very special place in his heart, and he would go to the ends of the earth and back for them. Bravery is a good word to describe him, considering that large temples and vast, unknown lands do not shake this boy. Link may be a simple kid who carves wood for fun and enjoys a good, long nap, but he is hero material with a heart of gold.
( Strengths/Weaknesses ) : Sword Combat (Strength): Link has been trained in the art of sword fighting via his schooling in Skyloft. He is able to hold his own with a sword and shield (as well as with a sling shot).
Bravery (Strength): Link has absolutely no limitations, meaning that fear is not a deciding factor for anything. Link will do whatever it takes to find Zelda, even if it means facing gigantic, dangerous creatures on the Surface below.
Flight (Strength): Not on his own of course. Link has the companionship of a loftwing, which is a large bird that can soar the skies of Skyloft. He pilots a large, rare red colored loftwing with ease, eveyn winning himself first place in the race to graduate and become a knight.
Wisdom (Strength): Link is very intelligent when it comes to strategy and solving problems. Given that every challenge involves some sort of dungeon or temple with the likes of a labrynth or rubix cube, he's got to use his head more often than his brawn.
Head in the clouds (Weakness): Though a very mild weakness, Link is well known for going off in his own little world and the frequent nap. He's known as a sleepy boy with a very active imagination. Under extreme circumstances, however, he's able to keep very good focus.
( Other Important Facts ) : Link's hobby is wood carving! Not that this is an IMPORTANT fact, but he loves carving sculptures of memorable objects/individuals for fun.
( Sample ) :
The road ahead of him would be longer than expected, bearing more life-threatening challenges that he was more ready than ever to face. Link took that feeling of loss and dismay and held it tight, locking the image of Zelda freezing within a large, orange crystal never to be heard of for thousands of years. The frown that followed would be quickly replaced with a stern expression, prepared to take on Demise and wake up his best friend... His Goddess.
Although what lies beyond the portal of time is not the present, hardly the future, and most definitely not the past... But something else. When Link took that step, nothing but darkness encased him. Consciousness became a fleeting existence and suddenly he felt his entire body go dead weight into a heavy sleep. At least it felt that way when his eyes opened again.
"--Ah!!" Link startled awake, sitting up abruptly to find himself in a completely unfamiliar territory.
Dark blonde eyebrows furrowed as he turned his head left and right, frantic to find an answer while still seated on the ground. Hardly being a helpful method, the hero took his stand, hands clenched in fists as he tried to find answers with now a few steps. Nothing. Above him was not the sky he once called home, while the ground beneath him was nothing close to the surface he became familiar with.
"Fi...?"
The call was short, quiet, expecting the spirit of his blade to hear his call so close to him but it came with no reply. Link turned around quickly, almost rotating in a circle in hopes of suddenly finding a blue female floating behind him. Nothing. No one. Just the sky that hardly resembled what he was used to-- Water. Ocean? It was as if he was in a bubble. A frustrated grunt became an instant hint that Link was not prepared for such a change of location, regardless of the challenge. He had a plan, he had instructions from Zelda, and now... Now there is nothing.
"Z-..." Calling for Zelda made no sense, and Link's hardened expression quickly faded to a look of dejection and disappointment. He was hardly a man of many words to begin with, and this time made no difference. Link fell completely silent, free of any grunts and groans when the reminder that his best friend and Goddess was now further away than she would have been before. Link's eyes made focus of the land before him, mouth turned into a frown as he looked around the unfamiliar bubble under the sea.
He was lost...
For the first time in a long time, Link had felt like hope had sort of faded away. After the long journey, the tedious steps he took to get to Zelda only to witness her lock herself in a large chunk of rock and him to be hurled off into some unknown land beneath the sea. What was once irritable confusion quickly turned into depression. Link's eyes nearly casted shadows with how dark they became, a frown turning into something literally of pain and frustration. His eyes locked to the ground only to find a peculiar device nestled between his feet.
...What?
Eyebrow perked, somehow his eyes managed to grasp a bit of light, just when all hope was lost. He crouched to the ground, taking the unknown object in his hands to curiously observe it. A little screen lit up, providing what appeared to be... Text? Link hummed to himself as he idly tapped at it, finding that letters formed when he pressed the right things.
"... Ah!"
As if hope might have never returned, Link stood corrected. There might be hope to find his way back yet! Quickly, he began to type away, trying to form the right words that were both brief and clear. He needed to find his way back as soon as possible... Or at least get back to Zelda. If only to see her and make sure she's alright.
His eyebrows furrowed at the device, his teeth idly tugged and bit at his bottom lip in concentration.

Hello? If anyone may find this, I am in need of help. My name is Link, I am on a very important journey, and I have been dropped in the wrong place!
And if I am somehow in another world... Maybe...
If anyone knows or has seen Zelda, please respond!
Thank you.

There was no response right away, leaving Link to let a heavy sigh go as his shoulders dropped. Eyes forward, there is only one direction to go. But gods, he had felt so heavy since this journey started... Now he felt as though his legs were made of cement.
